What? You have got to be kidding!

Countless times, (when we are at the mall, Wal-Mart, restaurants, church, movie theater, etc.) women will come up to Ginger and say stuff like, “I love those shoes. Where did you get them?” or “Can I get a picture of your hair for my beautician?” Now I am talking about people that don’t even know us. I am amazed at how willing they are to ask that of someone that they don’t know. Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind nor does Ginger mind, however I would like for someone, sometime to say “Johnathan, I love your shoes!” Lol. (I am just kidding on that part. But in case you are wondering, I get them at the Florsheim Factory in Nashville. ha…)

But now back to the point of this message. If it is ‘politically correct’ for someone to do that, then why is it not ‘politically correct’ for us to walk up to someone that we don’t know and ask, “Do you know JESUS?” or “Have you found the JOY that you are looking for? You can find it in JESUS!” Well, ‘politically correct’ or not, we need to be asking GOD to give us the boldness to start reaching out. Now maybe you are saying, “I am not walking up to a perfect stranger and asking that!”, well what about your family members? What about your friends? Are you making sure with them that they have found a SAVIOR? That they have met JESUS CHRIST? Here is a scripture that says a good bit and it seems that we may have forgotten about it.

(John 10:10) The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Why are we letting satan take our family and friends. When are we going to stand up and say “IT IS ENOUGH!”? Just this past week I have heard of 8 different suicides and 5 of them have been under the age of 30. People are hurting badly while we are to busy and ‘careful’ to say anything to them. Please, y’all, why don’t we start allowing JESUS to reach out through us? There is a work to do but so few that are willing to do the work. The harvest is plentiful, but the labours are few (Luke 10:2).

I ask you today, will you stop what you are doing for a moment and call one of your family members or friends that you are not sure of their relationship with GOD? Just ask them. You may be the vessel that GOD uses to draw them to HIM! Please don’t let your family and friends go to hell because ‘you didn’t want to bother them with the truth’. We can make a difference, if we just allow the LOVE of GOD to flow from within us.

Ok, enough preaching (for now, anyway…) I would love to invite you to check out our concert schedule at www.YoungHarmony.com to see where the bus is stopping this weekend. We may be closer to you than you think.

Please keep us in your prayers as we do what GOD has called us to do. You see, this isn’t ‘just a job’ for us, it is a ministry. We realize that we can’t do it without HIM, so we need your prayers as we do.

Thanks for your friendship and encouragement!
Until we meet again, here is a great reminder for all of us “I Need Your Grace” (http://www.southerngospelreporter.com/ineedyourgrace.mp3)
